E. Montgomery has been a member of Hamilton and Faatz since 1982. She grew
up in Colorado and raised her family here. She is an avid member of the Colorado
Mountain Club and the Denver Bicycle Touring Club. Ms. Montgomery received her
Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Washburn University School of law in
1980. In law school she was a member of Phi Delta Phi, Order of Barristers, Moot
Court and the Washburn Law Journal. After graduation she was admitted to
practice in the State of Kansas and the U. S. District Court for the District of
Kansas. She was an assistant county attorney for Lyon County, Kansas,
prosecuting criminal cases. In 1981 she joined the law firm of Atherton, Hurt
and Sanderson in Emporia, Kansas. In 1982 Ms. Montgomery was admitted to the
Colorado Bar. She has extensive experience representing employers in all aspects
of employment law, including EEOC and Colorado Civil Rights Commission
proceedings and litigation in state and federal courts. She also practices in
the areas of real estate law; commercial and construction litigation, including
insurance bad faith and, start-up e-business transactions. Ms. Montgomery
believes the most important aspect of representing a client is to be accessible,
and to respond promptly and knowledgeably with practical solutions utilizing
cost-efficient and innovative approaches.
Ms. Montgomery is admitted to all Colorado state courts, the U.S. District Court
for the District of Colorado, the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth
Circuits and the United States Court of Federal Claims. She is a member of the
American, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, Litigation and Labor Law
